Record high-resolution 4K video with the compact black Canon Vixia HF G70 4K Camcorder. The G70 features the same form factor and many of the excellent specifications of the G50, including a 1/2.3″ UHD 4K CMOS sensor, a DIGIC DV 6 image processor, an 8-blade circular aperture, 5-axis image stabilization, 20x optical zoom in 4K, and recording in UHD 4K30 resolution. This optimized model features a larger 3.5 mm capacitive touchscreen LCD display, a higher-resolution tiltable 0.36″ OLED electronic viewfinder, recording only in MP4 format, and fast video-only USB-C output with UVC support for live streaming to a computer.

With the G70, it is possible to simultaneously record UHD 4K30 3840 x 2160 video onto separately sold SD cards using the built-in dual SD card slots. Recording features also include slow motion up to 0.5x, fast motion up to 1200x, and interval recording in both HD and 4K. It also embeds time, date, timecode, and other metadata into the video files. The lens features advanced autofocus, a wide 29.3 viewing angle, and 20x optical zoom, allowing zoom up to 627 mm in 4K. The advanced five-axis image stabilization reduces shakes and vibrations, especially at longer focal lengths.

There are five assignable buttons around the camera, as well as a joystick, lens ring, and a customizable dial for complete control over settings. The tiltable EVF offers greater comfort and convenience, while the adjustable touchscreen LCD provides easy access to settings.

Also included are an AC adapter with adapter cable, BP-820 battery pack, lens cap, and lens hood with lens barrier.

Canon 4K Sensor
A 4K sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor deliver sharp and detailed UHD images, while the 8-blade iris creates cinematic out-of-focus highlights. Frame your scenes using the ultra-bright 3.5″ LCD screen or the built-in OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF).

On-Screen “Time Stamp” Recording (OSD)
OSD recording embeds date, time, timecode, and other data directly into the camera’s original files, effectively adding a “time stamp” to every frame of video, an important requirement for legal videographers and law enforcement applications.

UVC Live Streaming
Stream HD video directly from the camera via UVC1 to Windows or macOS computers. USB audio output is not supported.

Take Creative Control
Add impact to your productions with dynamic wide shots and close-ups captured using the powerful 20x optical zoom and advanced image stabilization. Customize the camera with five assignable buttons and use the built-in ND filters to adjust exposure with wider apertures or slower shutter speeds.

Fast and Precise Focusing with Face Detection
The VIXIA HF G70 features an advanced Hybrid AF system with adjustable focusing speed for either Fast or Smooth AF. Using the ultra-bright 3.5″ LCD touchscreen, set focus simply by touching the desired AF point. For even greater precision and convenience, especially in busy environments where maintaining the subject in frame is essential, Face Detection AF and Face Tracking are also available, while manual focus is controlled via the focus/zoom ring.

MP4 Recording
The VIXIA HF G70 supports MP4 recording, specifically 4K UHD at 150 Mb/s in 30/24p, as well as 1080p at 35 Mb/s or 17 Mb/s in 60/30/24p.

Professional Output, Custom Picture Menu, and Audio Scene Selection
A wide range of output and recording options includes infrared mode, 5x Full HD slow-motion recording, UHD 4K/1080p fast-motion recording up to 1200x, and various scene modes. A custom picture menu allows color matching with other Canon cameras, while audio scene mode provides sound capture optimized for the environment. Simultaneous backup recording and relay recording through dual SD card slots are also included.
