AJA Bridge NDI Overview

The AJA Bridge NDI 3G converter offers high capacity 3G-SDI to NDI and NDI to 3G-SDI conversion in a compact 1U form factor. Designed to integrate into your existing SDI or NDI workflow, this plug and play converter is ideal for broadcast, esports, entertainment venues, and other audiovisual demands.

Converter features include compatibility with 10 bit DCI 4K60 4:2:2 video, 16 3G-SDI input or output ports, two 10 GigE RJ45 input or output ports, up to 16 channels embedded audio support, and both local and remote control.

3G-SDI to NDI and NDI to 3G-SDI Conversion

Flexible Operation

• HD Input or Output: Use all HD channels for SDI to NDI encoding or NDI to SDI decoding.

• HD Video and Key I/O: V+K video and key grouping allows combining dual HD SDI video and key signals and encoding them into a single NDI output with an alpha channel. Individual NDI inputs with an alpha channel can be decoded and output as dual SDI video and key signals.

• Simultaneous Encode and Decode: Encodes SDI to NDI and decodes NDI to SDI simultaneously. Offers a gateway conversion to easily connect SDI and NDI workspaces.

All Encode Mode

Supports up to 16 incoming HD video signals via 3G-SDI and applies NDI encoding to each channel, enabling the output of up to 16 individual NDI HD channels over 10 GigE. The same 16 3G-SDI channels can also be used to enable:

• Eight dual channel video and key groups for NDI outputs.

• Four four or two channel DCI 4K or UHD 4K groups to NDI outputs.

When configured to encode all incoming SDI inputs to NDI outputs, it supports:

• Simultaneous 3G-SDI inputs: 16 simultaneous channels up to 60p YCbCr 4:2:2 10 bit.

• Simultaneous encoding for individual 1080p channels: 16 simultaneous channels up to 60p.

• Simultaneous encoding for 1080p video and key pairs: 8 simultaneous channels up to 60p.

• Simultaneous encoding for DCI 4K or UHD 4K groups: 4 simultaneous channels up to 60p.

• Supported encoded output via 10 GigE: NDI UYVY, 4:2:2, 8 bit or P216, 4:2:2, 16 bit.

All Decode Mode

Decodes all incoming NDI signals fed through the 10 GigE ports directly to the SDI outputs.

• Decodes up to 16 NDI or NDI HX inputs to uncompressed HD video for output via 16 3G-SDI outputs.

• Decodes up to 8 NDI streams and an alpha channel for conversion and output as 8 dual 3G-SDI HD video and key channels.

• When decoding up to 4 NDI 4K or UltraHD streams, the 16 connections support Square Division or 2SI for SDI output.

• Simultaneous NDI or NDI HX inputs: 4, 8, or 16 simultaneous channels up to 60p, UYVY, 4:2:2, 8 bit.

• Simultaneous decoding to 1080p: 16 simultaneous channels up to 60p.

• Simultaneous decoding of 1080p video and key pairs: 8 simultaneous channels up to 60p.

• Simultaneous decoding DCI 4K or UHD 4K: 4 simultaneous channels up to 60p.

• Supported decoding output through two 10 GigE ports: YCbCr 4:2:2 10 bit.

Encode or Decode Combinations

• Provides up to 8 combinations of SDI to NDI encoding channels, NDI to SDI decoding channels, and SDI to NDI encoding channels in each direction.

Remote or Local Control

• Local control via mouse and keyboard with a VGA compatible monitor.

• Remote access for simple control through the same intuitive user interface.

Signal Monitoring

• Confidence or security monitoring through BNC or VGA video output.
