The 612 Nitrotech Head and Carbon Fiber Twin Leg Tripod with Middle Spreader from Manfrotto provide content creators with a versatile solution for a wide range of applications. A compact head is paired with a lightweight three-section tripod and a removable mid-level spreader that adds stability and enables more precise angle adjustments.

The head features a Nitrogen gas piston counterbalance mechanism that provides continuous counterbalance from 8.8 to 39.7 lb. It is also designed with improved fluid technology, enabling smooth, vibration-free pan and tilt movements. Additional key features include a side-lock camera plate system and two rosette adapters, each equipped with a 3/8″-16 accessory port and Manfrotto and ARRI anti-rotation slots.

A half-ball adapter is included to convert the flat-base head for use with the tripod, which features a 100mm bowl and a 75mm bowl adapter. With its native flat base, the 612 Nitrotech can also be easily mounted on sliders, jibs, and other support equipment.

The combined maximum height of the head and tripod is 66″, while the minimum height is 29″. The tripod features twin spiked feet with removable rubber overshoes, allowing it to be used on both soft terrain and flat surfaces. A padded carrying bag is included for convenient transport.

Manfrotto 612 Nitrotech Fluid Video Head

The Manfrotto 612 Nitrotech is a flat-base fluid video head designed to meet the versatility needs of independent content creators working across a variety of production environments.

Thanks to its flat base with a 3/8″-16 mounting thread, along with its compact and lightweight design, the head can easily be moved between a compatible tripod and other support systems such as sliders, jibs, monopods, and more.

One of the key features of the 612 Nitrotech is its Nitrogen gas piston counterbalance mechanism (Nitrotech), which allows continuous counterbalance adjustment, rather than stepped or fixed adjustments, across the full payload range of 8.8 to 39.7 lb.

In addition, an upgraded fluid drag system significantly improves continuously variable drag performance and enables smooth, judder-free pan and tilt movements.

For added flexibility, the head’s camera plate system features a side-lock mechanism that allows for faster and safer mounting of your camera and plate. Instead of aligning and sliding the plate in from the rear, you can conveniently place one side of the plate from above and then press the other side until it clicks securely into place.

The 612 Nitrotech includes two rosette mounts that allow the included pan bar to be attached on either the left or right side. These rosettes also incorporate Manfrotto’s Easy Link system, which enables accessory mounting via an articulating arm.

The Easy Link system supports Manfrotto articulating arms with anti-rotation pins as well as arms with ARRI locating pins to prevent twisting. Standard articulating arms can also be attached.

The Manfrotto Carbon Fiber Twin Leg Video Tripod Legs with Mid-Level Spreader are suitable for use on flat, smooth surfaces as well as uneven terrain. The tripod features carbon fiber tubes that are both strong and lightweight, while also providing corrosion resistance.

The legs incorporate a 100mm half bowl and include a 75mm adapter ring, allowing compatibility with video heads that use either 100mm or 75mm half balls.

The legs support up to 44.1 lb, enabling you to mount an appropriately sized fluid head, camera, and accessories without exceeding the tripod’s load capacity.

With the included mid-level spreader attached, the tripod height can be adjusted from just under 2 feet to over 5 feet, while the legs collapse to under 28 inches for transport and storage.

Removing the included rubber feet reveals dual spiked feet, which are ideal for soft surfaces such as gravel, dirt, or sand. The legs weigh just 6.61 lb, making them easy to transport almost anywhere.

The adapter ring is removable and attaches with three mounting screws. When installed, the adapter converts the 100mm bowl into a 75mm bowl.
