Complementing the optics, the Intelligent OS system minimizes camera shake for sharper handheld results. The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) provides fast and quiet autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. The lens is built with dust and moisture sealing and features a water- and oil-repellent coating on exposed elements. It also includes a rotating tripod collar with a removable Arca-type compatible foot.
