Record a podcast with up to four people using the TASCAM Mixcast 4, a tabletop mixer and recorder featuring sound effects, independent headphone outputs, and mix-minus functionality, ideal for live or remote guests and streaming applications.
With the Mixcast 4, you have everything needed to record a high-quality multicast podcast directly to an SD card or through a stereo USB feed, enabling instant streaming to your favorite platform.
The unit provides an intuitive layout with eight physical faders, eight sound-effect pads, and a built-in 5″ touchscreen for deeper control. It can record up to 14 tracks simultaneously directly to an SD card, or record stereo audio via USB directly into your DAW or streaming platform.
In addition to TASCAM Podcast Editor software, the Mixcast 4 includes an AC power adapter and a USB Type-C cable.
Record up to four participants in person using the built-in microphone preamps, which accept XLR or 1/4″ connections for a wide range of microphones.
The unit also includes stereo line inputs with selectable 1/4″ or 3.5 mm connections, allowing integration with smartphones and consumer audio devices.
Additionally, the interface features Bluetooth input, enabling wireless connections to phones and other devices for remote guests.
Both the stereo line inputs and the Bluetooth input feature mix-minus functionality, ensuring that remote guests do not hear an echo of their own voice during conversations.
The Mixcast 4 provides four independently controlled headphone outputs, each with its own volume control.
A 3.5 mm TRRS headphone output mirrors headphone output 1, which is useful when using headsets with that connection type.
The system also includes a Talkback function, allowing the host to communicate privately with participants through their headphones, including guests connected via USB, smartphone, or Bluetooth.
With 8 physical faders and 8 sound pads (across 8 banks), the Mixcast 4 offers professional-level tactile control during recording.
You can trigger sound effects, start recording instantly, and adjust pad levels in real time. Banks can be switched during recording to access additional sounds.
A normalization function is also available for pad audio sources.
Recorded files can be exported in WAV, MP3, or MP4 formats, offering flexibility for different production workflows and distribution platforms.
The Mixcast 4 allows recording directly to an SD card, enabling standalone operation without a computer.
It can also connect to Mac, Windows, iOS, or Android devices, functioning as a 14-in / 2-out USB audio interface.
The Mixcast 4 includes TASCAM Podcast Editor, dedicated software for basic editing, mixing tasks, and sound pad control, streamlining the podcast production workflow.
