Powerful and portable, the Portacapture X6 from TASCAM is the streamlined version of the popular X8, redesigned and scaled back for videographers, podcasters, and content creators working on smaller productions. The compact size of the X6 makes it easy to position for numerous recording applications, while still retaining the ability to record up to six simultaneous tracks at 96 kHz / 32-bit floating point.

The stereo condenser microphone pair can be adjusted for A/B or X/Y configurations, depending on the desired stereo field width, and X6 sports plenty of connectivity, including two XLR input jacks with 24 or 48V phantom power, one 3.5mm stereo aux input with plug-in power, a stereo 3.5mm line output, and a USB-C port with 6×2 audio interface capability, just to name a few. The color touchscreen makes it easy to operate the X6 like an app, with an intuitive and colorful interface, and the recorder can be mounted on cameras and stands via its 1/4″ slot for extra versatility. With up to 22 hours max battery life and the ability to take up to 512 GB microSDXC cards, the X6 will keep you creating for as long as your imagination allows, anywhere you want.

Audio for Video Production

When shooting video, you want to focus on your visuals and not worry about your audio. The Portacapture X6 was built with video production in mind. Its workflow, presets, and user-saved settings eliminate countless steps.

The X6 features 96 kHz / 32-bit float recording and captures audio in WAV (BWF) and MP3 up to 320 kb/s.

This ensures the highest audio quality and a wide dynamic range, allowing you to handle unexpected sound levels during production. The X6 also supports time-code sync and Bluetooth app control, enabling audio and video alignment even when your camera does not record audio.

The AK-BT1 Bluetooth Adapter is sold separately.

Capture Your Way

With its two built-in microphones, the Portacapture X6 is ready to record with just a few taps. If you prefer external microphones, use the two included XLR inputs and combine them with the onboard microphones for a portable four-microphone setup.

Record six tracks simultaneously (four tracks + stereo mix) and even use the X6 as a 6-in / 2-out USB audio interface with your computer.

Control the X6 from Your Phone

Place the recorder in one location and operate it remotely from another. With the AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter (sold separately), you can control the X6 wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet.
