Canon C80 RF Mount Overview: 6K Full-Frame Cinema Capture in a Mirrorless Form

Offering exceptional 6K30 full-frame capture in a compact body, the Canon EOS C80 combines the CMOS sensor of the EOS C400 with a lightweight design similar to the EOS C70. Ideal for fast-paced productions and solo operators, this digital camera features triple-base ISO levels of 800, 3200, and 12,800 in log/raw, improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus, and simultaneous 12G-SDI and HDMI video output. The RF mount provides compatibility with fast and reliable Canon RF lenses, while the motorized ND filter enables real-time exposure adjustment.

6K Full-Frame Sensor

The 6K full-frame CMOS sensor at the core of the C80 delivers extremely low noise levels, improved sensitivity efficiency, and enhanced 4K image quality through 6K oversampling. This is made possible by the advanced light capture technology of the back-illuminated, stacked CMOS sensor.

Multiple Recording Formats

The C80 supports full-frame recording up to 6K30 in Canon Cinema RAW Light LT and, in cropped S35 mode, up to 4K30 in RAW ST and 4K60 in RAW LT.
Oversampled 4K at 120p or 2K at 180p delivers maximum detail in 10-bit 4:2:2 color.
It also supports slow and fast motion recording up to UHD 4K120 using HEVC and AVC codecs.
Editing workflows are streamlined with XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S codecs, featuring optimized structure and metadata preservation in MP4 format.

RF Mount

The integrated RF mount provides compatibility with high-performance Canon RF lenses featuring advanced coatings and image stabilization.
The short flange distance reduces body depth, resulting in a more compact design.

Optional PL-RF Adapter

A PL-RF adapter allows the use of ARRI PL-mount cinema lenses.
Includes Cooke/i metadata support and a secure locking system.

Multiple Interfaces, Including 12G-SDI

Includes full-size HDMI and 12G-SDI outputs that can be used simultaneously.
USB-C port for UVC video output or connection to a smartphone or Canon GP-E2 GPS receiver.
BNC connector for timecode input/output (not simultaneous with SDI).

Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus

Enhanced technology uses nearly 100% of the sensor for focus detection.
Wider AF coverage thanks to the back-illuminated sensor.
Includes EOS iTR AF X with deep-learning-based human detection.

Mini-XLR Audio Inputs

Two mini-XLR inputs with phantom power and manual control.
Supports 4-channel audio via mini-XLR, internal microphone, and 3.5 mm input.

Built-In ND Filters

Motorized ND unit allows up to 10 stops of neutral density.
Dedicated controls enable quick exposure adjustment without affecting depth of field.

Log2/3 and 3D LUT Support

Canon Log 2 and Log 3 modes provide extended dynamic range.
Supports 3D LUTs for accurate color reproduction on both LCD and external monitors.

Compact Design with Tilting LCD

Lightweight design with ergonomic grip and joystick.
Multi-function shoe and removable handle with microphone holder.
LCD screen includes tools such as focus peaking and waveform.

Dual SD Slots and Multiple Recording Options

Supports simultaneous, relay, and proxy recording.
Allows JPEG still image capture.

Ethernet and Wi-Fi Control

Supports remote control via XC protocol.
Compatible with Canon Multicamera Control app for monitoring and full adjustments.

BP-AN Series Battery

Operates with included BP-A30N battery, BP-A60N, or 24 VDC adapter.
Compatible with older BP-A batteries (without powering the multi-function shoe).
Supports use with cages and V-mount or Gold mount batteries for extended runtime.
